What Can I Expect During my Chemical Peel?
Your chemical peel will be performed by our clinical staff in our state-of-the-art facility. Before your chemical peel treatment begins, your skin will be cleansed and a topical anesthetic will be applied to the entire treatment area. This is to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment. Once numb, a chemical solution will be applied to the skin. This solution will sit on the skin for several minutes before being wiped away and replaced with a neutralizing solution. This neutralizing solution will stop the chemical reaction on your skin and begin your healing process.
What Results Can I Expect from my Chemical Peel?
Immediately following your chemical peel treatment, you may experience your skin being red and feeling sensitive to the touch, similar to the sensation of a sunburn. This is normal and typically resolves on its own within the following weeks. The "peel" portion of your chemical peel will likely occur between three and 14 days following your chemical peel treatment. As your old, dead skin starts to slough away, your bright new complexion will be revealed. Patients typically report their peel lasting between four days and two weeks, depending on the type of peel they received.
